What happens to downloads and bookmarks in incognito?
Closing a private window deletes history, cookies and site data. It does not delete anything you deliberately saved, such as downloaded files and new bookmarks.

What persists
- -Downloaded files stay in your Downloads folder.
- -Bookmarks you create are saved to your normal bookmarks.
- -Screenshots and files saved from pages remain on disk.
What disappears
- -The download list inside the browser.
- -Browsing history, cookies and cached pages.
- -Passwords and form entries, unless you chose to save them.
How to clean up
- -Delete downloaded files and empty the trash.
- -Remove bookmarks you added during the session.
- -Check your operating system's recent files list.
